For all professional photographers, having your image printed exactly how you view it on your screen is of utmost importance.
This is why having your monitor properly calibrated is essential for all photographers in order to get what you see on your screen to match with your prints.
We at FlipChap want to help you to not only offer the best packages for your clients, but to also reproduce the right colors of your stunning images when you get the prints from us. With just a few simple steps, we can help you to match our sample prints you have in front of you that came together with our very own Swatch Kit Booklet. This will help you to know exactly how the colors will look printed once you get your photo album delivered from us.
Having your monitor properly calibrated is important for all photographers, even if you do not offer printing the images for your clients. Pictures can vary in how they are seen between monitor to monitor and especially through the process of printing a photo book.
For example a wedding photo of the bride and groom together during a vibrant sunset can look stunning on your monitor but if your monitor is calibrated differently, it can be viewed by another monitor or in prints as pale and dull. We want to help you to avoid having photos looking over-saturated or not being the correct tone that you were going for. Having a ‘cool’ or ‘warm’ display can completely change how your image will look to others and how it gets printed. Calibrating your monitor to match our images will enable your whole printing process to go as smoothly as possible.
- Double tap the MENU button on your monitor and you will see a bigger menu displayed.
- Under the PICTURE section, depending on your monitor, you will see the MODE function or,
for example for a Samsung monitor it will state SAMSUNG MAGIC BRIGHT.
- Click on this function and change your monitor mode to CUSTOM.
Under the same PICTURE section, select the BRIGHTNESS function and adjust the brightness of your monitor accordingly and as close to the pictures below as possible.
Under the same PICTURE section, select the CONTRAST function and adjust the contrast of your monitor accordingly and as close to the pictures below as possible.
For those who are familiar with their monitor, we also advise that you adjust the RED, GREEN, and BLUE color settings to get your monitor as close as possible to the images.
- You can find these settings under the COLOR settings from your main MENU.
- Do not adjust the COLOR TONE as this will change the settings for your BRIGHTNESS and CONTRAST that you have done earlier.
